Don't trade your I15's in for I20's if you're a digger

2012/4/13I've gone with the later and it's suprising what hacking 3 degrees of bounce off has done to them. Maybe you're happy with the i15's as is but if the cost isn't too bad, I'd order a single iron, either a 6 or 7 and get them to plunk the Tour grind on it for you (anywhwere from 1 to 4 degrees they'll remove) with your shaft and grip of choice.

Review: TaylorMade SLDR Irons – GolfWRX

Excellent numbers: lofts, lies, bounce angles, swing weights, etc. (Sand wedge bounce seems a bit low, but also makes the club useful off tight grass.) The lofts especially are great; 24 degree 5 iron, 28 degree 6 iron and good gaps up to 46 degree PW (hey, an actual wedge as opposed to a 10 iron).

PXG 0211 Irons Review

Matt, this is more of a fitting question, but I ordered a set of the 0211 based off my past specs and the ball flight is lower than desired with the graphite MMT 80 stiff shaft. I am 2hndcp, shallow with low spin. Previous clubs were Titleist TMB with Aerotech SF

Club Repair and Work

Before you remove the shaft, hit them with the torch for about 2 seconds so they melt a little bit, then let them cool for about 20 seconds and cut them off with a box cutter. Once the ferrule is off, you don't need any special equipment to take off an iron shaft (this is where the difference between graphite

Cutting a graphite shaft

2013/7/22I basically cut into the shaft surface a little at a time until the cut is complete. The shaft wall is very thin, so it still takes maybe 45 seconds or a minute to cut a graphite shaft. [/quote] Ah, with the saw, I started at one point and kept sawing until it went through

Understanding and Diagnosing Rear Differential Noise

This noise can come off as popping/banging or binding. Drives is advised to pull over in order to prevent the possibility of loosing control. Having teeth affected on a single pinion gear may not ruin your differential completely and if caught in time you might be able

TaylorMade SpeedBlade irons: Editor Review – GolfWRX

I'm not sure if it's the shaft, the design of the clubhead, or a combination of both, but the M2 is definitely a different animal than the M1 at impact. This club launches the ball high, arguably ridiculously so. I was hitting Jason Day moonbombs with this bad boy.

First Look

Fitters and buyers will still have access to PXG's full shaft matrix, but there is a per club upcharge of $25 (both steel and graphite) to move out of the stock shaft offering. It's an understandable line given where the offering fits in the PXG lineup though it does run a bit counter to the message of a company whose sales have, to date, been almost entirely custom fit.

Adams Idea Pro Forged Irons Review (Clubs, Review)

So much of a club's feel is in the shaft it's difficult to quantify the difference. My 506's had Nippon 950's in them and that is, perhaps, my preferred shaft The Idea Pro forged irons had, as mentioned above, the TT Black Gold shafts much heavier.

Forum Thread of the Day: "Hitting blades better than game

2020/1/29Today's Forum Thread of the Day comes from BobaDefett who has found that he is hitting his friend's blade irons better than he is his own game improvement irons. Perplexed by the situation, BobaDefett asks WRXers for some answers, who as always, shine some

Why It's so Important to Have the Right Lie Angle

If your club is too upright at impact, then your shots will travel to the left of your target.Conversely, if your club is too flat, then your shots will be heading right. For every degree that your lie angle is either too upright or flat, the ball will initially travel 4 yards off your

I will wash the engine this weekend and keep a close eye on the area where I saw oil seeping (again) after the 1st few days after graphite gasket went on. That will tell me what is going on, either the gasket HAS sealed off the leaking or there is something else (coolant) getting in

How to Trim Golf Shafts to Firm Them

How to Trim Golf Shafts to Firm Them. Although a shorter golf club shaft tends to be firmer than a longer one, it is important to understand the changes trimming a shaft will make to a club before making such a permanent change. Tour pros often have their shafts

Maltby TS1 Irons

2020/5/15I'm debating if I should order a built club with the Score shaft OR if I should order the head and ferrule and pair it with either a TT DG spinner or S300 that I've got lying around. The reviews on the shaft seem promising. Just trying to avoid the work of pulling the Thx!

TaylorMade RSi 2 Irons Review (Clubs, Review)

The stock graphite shaft is the Matrix Program F15 shaft. TaylorMade also offers a number of other shaft options, some of which do not include an upcharge. For this review, I received a 4I-PW set with the stock KBS Tour 105 shafts in stiff flex.

Driving Iron Review

Being that it is the "thickest" club in the group, and the one with the lightest shaft, it is no surprise that the HI-610h T.S. was the easiest to launch way up into the sky. For players with lower swing speeds, or players who just hit the ball low, this would be one of the first driving irons I would recommend.

Hobby Club

for graphite the chop saw above or any chop saw with the correct cutting wheel will do. Yes you can use a fine tooth hack saw. I suggest that you fabricate a little jig to hold the shaft in place and that creates a straight cut and wrap the shaft with masking tape at the cut area

New Level Golf Aims to Take

Long story short, the final result was Club Connex Uni-Fit, a universal shaft adapter allowing fitters to pair any shaft with any OEM head, regardless of the proprietary OEM adapter. Uni-Fit was a paradigm-shifting technology which did for fitters what Gutenberg did for mass printing.
